Congrats!!

My dear friend, Miranda and her husband Chad, were blessed Monday night with the birth of their baby. Ranger and mom are doing great!! To see precious pictures, go to their blog :)

Not so exhausted

Whoops, it has been awhile but lots has happened!

First, Clay and I had a wonderful Christmas! We spent most of our time at my parents house. It is so relaxing there and it was great to get a lot of rest. We got our first baby and maternity gifts!! Yea! Lots of Tech things from Mom, Dad and Kristi, and a few onsies too (I have heard you can never have enough of those.) I also received some soon to be heavily used Bella bands and a couple of maternity shirts. Thanks so much, ya'll really spoil us! We also had Christmas with Clay's parents, it is always nice to get up to Kingwood, unfortunately we just don't do it enough.

On December 29th, Clay and I had our second doctor's appointment and got to hear the precious sound of the babys heart beating. I have never been so excited and relieved. (Unfortunately the moments before the joyous sound were incredibly stressful...the doctor was having a tough time with a new machine and had to get out an older one to hear baby Graham it seemed to take like 20 mins but Clay claims it really was only about 5 minutes.) The nurse declared that since the baby was hiding it must be a boy...haha we shall see.

We have our next appointment early February and we will get another sonogram...but I don't think we will get to know the sex of the baby until early March.

I am starting to get a small baby bump, most of my jeans are very snug. But thanks to Bella Bands and Tummy Sleeves there is no need for maternity jeans yet.

We don't have before pics of my belly but just picture same as above minus the small pouch. This picture was taken at 12 weeks. I won't be fitting into these jeans much longer...squeeeeze.

in the oven!!!!!!

Yes!!! Clay and I are having a baby! We are so thrilled and excited, and are grateful for this wonderful blessing from God. I am a little over 9 weeks pregnant and due around July 19th. At 7 weeks, Clay and I had our first doctor's appointment and saw the heartbeat. What an amazing thing, it really hit home then that this was real! :)

The doctor said the bottom part of the blob is the head and the upper part is the body (she knew this because of where the heartbeat was coming from.)

I have also been so blessed not to have morning sickness or nausea of any kind. However, I have been so totally exhausted. So I am really looking forward to starting my Christmas vacation tomorrow...rest, relax, rest, relax, that's all I want to do!

Snow and Joe

Yes, this is a week late...but it snowed in Houston!! It didn't stick but it was so fun for everyone including Scout. It is pretty rare here, so people tend to freak...especially the news reporters and weathermen.

Also, last weekend we attended an engagement party for Joe and Melissa. Congrats you two...we are so very excited for ya'll! :)

Friend

Clay and I were foster dog parents for all of like 24 hours, but what a fun time it was. Scout loved having a new puppy around. At first he was quite jealous and kept cutting puppy off everytime the puppy tried to come close to me. Puppy stood his ground though and even gave Scout a tiny little growl and bark. They quickly became pals and played for hours and hours.

This poor abandoned, sick, malnourished, dehydrated and cold puppy was found on my school's playground last week. I took him to the vet and got him all checked out. He will be fine just needs some TLC.

Clay was not very happy with me when I called him to tell him I was bring home a new puppy. That night even though Clay thought he was cute he said "No Way." But not to worry the puppy has a wonderful home.

Thriller

So last Friday night, Clay and I joined some friends at the new House of Blues for probably the best concert I have been to in a long time. No not the real Michael Jackson...but it might as well have been. Who's Bad's lead man is an exact look-alike, sound-alike, perform-alike. This band played for about 2.5 hours straight. Songs ranging from ABC (complete with an outfit change into platform shoes and a huge 'fro) to Thriller to Billy Jean.

Lucky for us we were able to get into the "Foundation Room" a kindof secret-type vip area complete with a box for the show (thanks JB).

How much fun...but the night was not complete with out somewhat of a dance-off between some funny friends. :)

Whew!

Busy weekends! This weekend, Clay and I went to the Tech vs A&M game. Saturday was a long but very fun day. It started so early...about 7:15 am. We rode to College Station with Joe and Melissa, a fun but stressful ride as Joe was anxious to get there and was weaving through old people traffic. Tailgating began upon arrival, and then the game. We were grateful to have tickets to the game...but we were totally at the very top of the massive structure that is Kyle Field. Even though the temp was only like 80 it was so so hot. And the first half was a miserable display of Tech football. So we decided to abandon the mile-high seats in favor of more preferrable tailgating chairs beneath tents. Ahh...so much better. Tech pulled out the game but it was not pretty. I feel like they should really get their stuff together before UT and OU or it will be really really ugly.

Our day did not end with the game...rather it was just beginning. We enjoyed more tailgating complete with a mariachi band. Then we made our way to North Gate. Having never been to CS I did not know what to expect but I really enjoyed it there and loved how convienent it was to have everything in one place. We stayed in CS that night with 2 of the funniest couples I know. Yes 6 people one small, very bad motel room. I was so happy to be home Sunday afternoon. :)

Last weekend, my mom and dad were in Houston and they were so awesome to help Clay and I and Kristi paint our living room and hallway (it took 3 gallons...sooo much paint.) It is almost the same exact color but it looks so so much better!

Also, fall spirit took over when Clay and I went to the Houston Garden Center. We got sooo many mums. Clay was so wonderful to plant them all. Thanks Clay the yard looks so so good!!

Our weekend

So Friday, Clay and I met up with Clay's bestfriend Joe and his girlfriend Melissa. It was really great to see them, especially since they are now engaged!! Yea! Joe finally popped the question a week or two ago, while they were in Aspen visiting Carson. They had a great proposal story and everything went exactly as Joe had planned. So exciting. We really enjoyed spending time with them and after dinner we went to Pearl Bar. I felt almost silly going out...it has been so long since I have been out and had a night on the town. If you can even call it that, because we were home by 10:15pm! Haha. I am getting so old and I am always so exhausted on Friday's.

So I had an all day training for school on Saturday. I never look forward to Sat. trainings, but this one was great. My whole school went to the Fine Arts museum and learned how to incorporate art into our curriculum at school. This is the Fine art vertical team initiative that myself and other 4 teachers are trying to slowly implement into our school (the reason I moved to 1st.) We also got to do our own art...I should definitely never attempt painting again.

Sunday, Clay went to the terrible terrible Texans football game early in the a.m. So I slept in and did not go to church. Lucky for Kristi, because she called me when we would normally be in church saying she had a flat. Clay could not come help so I came to her rescue. I totally changed her flat and put on her spare all by myself. Not only that but it only took me like 5 minutes (once I figured out how to get the jack out of the trunk:) And I now feel as though I should be paid to work the crewpit for Nascar.
