Thats so silly

Riley's newest favorite phrase "Thats so silly" or "I being silly." I love it and it almost always cracks me up (unless it is the occasional diliberate disobedience and then the phrase is not so cute or funny :)

Riley goes to school

This post is terribly behind, but I did not want to leave it out.
Back in early September Riley had her first day of school. She was absolutely adorable loaded down with her backpack and so excited!

The preschool we choose was highly recommended by many neighbors as well as families from our sunday school class, and now I can see why. I just LOVE Riley's school. Her 2 teachers love on her, everyone is super friendly, and best of all she LOVES it too! Riley is only in school two mornings a week for 3 hours, it is the perfect amount of time and it has been so helpful in scheduling doctors visits for baby #2.

Riley brings me (really its mostly for her Daddy) home artwork or a craft each day. And according to her teachers she loves to do the puzzles and playdough but not the cars/trucks or blocks. :) After school I always question her about her morning, somedays she doesn't say much but she will usually tell me about their snack of the day and playing on the playground. Often when we are eating lunch (just after I pick her up) she will sing some fun new song or say a phrase that she picked up. For example at the end of last month she said "Say it. Sep - tep- ber." So cute. They must have been discussing the month.

Riley's school is a christian preschool inside a small church close to our home. Each week they send home a verse or Bible thought of the week. Some of the songs Riley has picked up are so sweet, she especially loves their snack time song God Our Father. Riley surprised me the other day when flipping through a random book she said "In the beginning God created the birds and the heavens and earth." My heart melted! :)

We are so thankful for a loving fun school where Riley can learn and grow.

Baby G2 is

We are thrilled!!!



We had our second ultrasound yesterday. Such an amazing experience. Our ultrasonographer said everything looked great and she showed us lots of body parts. We saw the four chambers of the heart, all major bones, the palate, profile of sweet baby #2, and a sweet belly. Baby #2 was very active and very stubborn just like Riley was during her ultrasounds. Baby g2 would not turn her head a certain way for the tech to get some measurement, so she had to put tons of pressure on my belly to try to get her to move (Riley had done this very thing but moved at the last minute to get all the measurements needed.) This sweet stubborn one did not move her head from the far depths and the tech never did get that measurement.

At the very end, the tech didn't say much just clicked a few pictures and started typing on the screen. Clay had a better view than I and he realized what she was doing before I did...she was writing Baby Sister!!!

We were thrilled and of course I shed a few happy tears. We are so excited to have a family of four (plus dog makes 5) and feel so absolutely blessed by this growing life!





After the ultrasound I saw Dr McCloskey and she thought everything looked great but that because the ultrasound tech was unable to get that one measurement I would need another ultrasound at my next visit. So I'm excited I get to see my sweet baby again soon.

Oh and no names yet. We're working on it :)

16 weeks

The first trimester cruised right along, this pregnancy seems to be flying by much quicker than the first. We* waited longer to tell the majority of people so maybe that has something to do with it.

(*I should say I waited longer this time around. :) A few days before my 13 week appointment (the milestone we were waiting on before telling people other than close friend and family) Clay tells me "So and so is really excited about us having another baby." Me: "oh...how do they know?" Clay: "I, uh, I kindof have told everyone." Me: "Like, everyone?" Clay: "Well, like our small group in real estate." Me: "Oh, I just thought we were waiting to tell people." Clay: "I was just too excited not to tell anyone." So funny and I could not be upset, he really was just excited and ready to share!! Although the "small group" he is talking about is like 10 people but the real estate world is very small and talk spreads like wildfire, so really everyone in his work community knew.)

It is a good thing we announced our pregnancy when we did, I do not feel like I could hide this belly any longer. I am still in regular jeans and tops but I know that will not last much longer, and I will soon need to add the belly bands. I feel some larger than I did with Riley. But other than size, I feel the exact same. I was fortunate not to experience morning sickness, I was mostly just exhausted the first tri. I have my energy back now and my appetite has kicked into full gear just like it did with Riley. With Riley I had no cravings whatsoever. Just ate whatever whenever. I find myself wanting pickles on a daily basis and I this really isn't out of the norm for me but I am loving anything sweet.

So, because I had Gestational Diabetes with Riley my doctor wanted me to take the 1 hr glucose test early on this pregnancy. I took it right before we left for our vacation and I received a call saying I failed the test the night before we left. I tried not to be too bummed and had already accepted that I would likely have GD again this pregnancy. Well about a week after we got back I went in for the lovely 3 hour test and praise God, I passed!!! I will still have to do another 3 hour test at the regular testing mark, 26 weeks. But for now I can rest easy not worrying about every little thing I eat and how that could be effecting baby #2's health.

Everyone asks how I feel about the gender and I truly have NO idea. I was way off with my instincts on Riley (we both thought she was a boy) and so now I don't even have any intuition. We cannot wait to find out though and will do so in about 3 weeks. SO excited!!
