Our sweet little nugget is 1! That happened way to fast!! Most days I really feel like Reese should really only be about 4 months old. Other days, specifically mornings after little sleep, I feel it has been every bit of 1 year. ;)
Reese is such a sweet snuggly joy!!! Her little personality just cracks me up! She is really busy lately and into everything. We had cabinet locks on most cabinets from Riley but Reese has discovered exactly which ones are not locked and daily, sometimes hourly, empties them. She also regularly helps herself to our pantry. She loves Trader Joe's alphabet cookies. Whenever it is a little too quiet in our house I know where to find her...both hands in the cookie jar with crumbs all around.
Even though she is very busy she will usually stop for a snuggle. She loves to just lay against me for a quick hug. And it melts Clays heart each time she takes a small rest against his chest. She will even make a snuggle sound "awwwww"
This month Reese has really started jabbering. Gahgahgahgah, goooooodaaaa, etc. She has also picked up the words papa (cue my dad melting on the spot) and bubba. Speaking of Bubba, Reese LOVES Scout. She loves to pet/pat him, give him kisses, pull his ears and tail and loves to say his name. He is tolerant until she reaches for his paws. Then he's outta there.
Reese now has 4 top teeth!! FINALLY. She worked on those two things for months. Seriously, since Christmas. She still only has 2 on the bottom.
Oh and Reese took her first steps with a toy this month. She will now zoom across the room with the toy stroller or push toy. She will even take a few steps holding our hands. But her overall mode of transportation is still her quick crawl.
Reese had her 1 year well check just a few days after her birthday. Reese had been battling ear infections (3 in a 2-3 month period) and the week before her birthday had needed to use a nebulizer at the doctors office (praying that was a 1 time thing) due to some breathing issues with her cold and ear infection but Dr Shuman thought Reese looked great!! She handled the shots fairly well but after the blood draw she was done.
Reese 1 year stats were:
Height: 30" (77%)
Weight: 19 lb 11.5 oz (26%)
HC: 17.5" (31.5%)
Reese what a wonderful blessing you are. You have added so much love and joy to our family. We all love you so much!! It is so sweet for us to see Riley loving you well and you loving Riley. You love to follow her around and do things just like she does. If Riley is playing at the toy kitchen, you are standing right there. If Riley is playing doll house you are playing doll house and so on and so on. It is so sweet to watch you together and I'm so thankful that you have each other...a sister is a special bond! Love you!!!
